Even though iPhone 12 is fairly new, but we are hearing a lot about the iPhone 13 series. The Apple iPhone 13 models are expected to launch soon, but we are hearing rumors about what to expect from this new phone.

Apple iPhone 13 may look similar to iPhone 12, with four sizes which include 5.4-inches, 6.1-inches, and 6.7-inches. Two of the phone may be higher-end “Pro” models and there may be two devices at lower cost, therefore more affordable.

There may be a 120Hz display coming to the iPhone for the first time. However, this feature might be reserved for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. We can expect to see four models such as the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

iPhone 13 may not expect to have major changes. It may have the same features as iPhone 12. But it may have improvements in camera; better battery life, a faster processor, a new 5G chip, and a smaller notch, and more.

It says that the lightning port from the high-end model would be remove by creating a “completely wireless experience”, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to Bloomberg, Apple engineers consider iPhone 13 as an “S” version of the 2020 models. In the past, Apple was using the “S” nomenclature years together with iPhone models features were having minor updates.

The iPhone 12 series has an OLED display. Apple’s next step is to bring high-refresh screens to the iPhone. But according to the rumor, the iPhone13 is getting a 120Hz display. The display with a high refresh rate will allow smoother scrolling, games, and animations.

It is says that Samsung is going to produce an LTPO display for the Pro models. Therefore, we can expect that only iPhone13 Pro and iPhone13 Pro Max can get a 120Hz display. However, the iPhone13 and iPhone13 mini may continue to have a 60Hz display.

In addition to Face ID, Apple consider to add an in-display fingerprint sensor to the iPhone13 models. Hence, as an alternate bio-metric authentication method. Therefore, it seems like it will be save for a future iPhone.

This model may also feature a stronger magnet inside and a different matte finish on the outside. Another rumor suggests that the upcoming iPhone will come in a matte black color option. Hence, replace space gray, along with a new stainless steel coating that reduces fingerprints and smudges.

According to the rumor, this model has a larger battery capacity than the previous model. Along with this, Apple is also swapping to space-saving components that allow room for large batteries.

This iPhone 13 series may come with an A15 Bionic chip set, which is expect to use a 5nm process. We can expect that the new A15 processor to significantly boost the performance and improve the battery life in upcoming models. However, all these four models will support 5G. Interestingly, there may be a hefty 1TB storage in one of the high-end models.

The iPhone 12 series has improved cameras, especially in the iPhone 12 Pro Max. But this year, we are expecting to have the same sensors as the iPhone 12 Pro Max in all four iPhone13 models.

According to the rumor, all four models may get an ultra-wide camera with an f/1.8 aperture. Another rumor suggests that the iPhone13 Pro might have a feature of a periscope lens for its telephoto camera, giving it 5x lossless zoom.

In low-light conditions, it has a lower aperture for better performance and improved auto-focus. But few changes are expect to have the wide lens in the device. It may also have a diagonal camera lens setup feature.

LIDAR sensor may be present in all four models. LIDAR sensor was first added by Apple to the iPad Pros in March. But later this technology is used in iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. It has a sensor-shift stabilization feature for both better stabilization and better auto-focus across the lineup.

According to the leaked dimensions, there will be a larger rear camera system. The Pro Max device camera system will protrude 0.87mm more than the current Pro Max device. Therefore, it increases the overall body thickness by 0.25mm. 

As stated by CAD renders, there is a diagonal camera setup on the 5.4 inch iPhone 13 mini. However, across the board, there is a 0.99mm more camera protrusion and slightly different dimensions.

At present, there is no official release date for iPhone 13. Usually, Apple likes to launch its 2021 iPhone at an event in September. Last year, the launch of the 2020 iPhone was delay due to the global pandemic. However, this year Kuo is forecasting that there will be no delay in the iPhone 13 launch. According to the rumor, the price of the iPhone 13 could be the same as iPhone 12.
